Getting to the Gym is the Hardest Part

Working out all the time isn’t easy – especially if you have a schedule like mine – there is always something coming up! In the end though, everyone CAN make time, but most choose to just make crazy excuses about why they can’t make it to the gym.

I’ve been making excuses for at least the past few weeks or so (mind you, they have been totally worth it). I’ve slipped off my diet completely, and as of lately, I’ve completely abandoned the gym and the last 2 sessions with my trainer. It’s not like I haven’t really had the time, I just haven’t managed my time as a whole in the best way, and then let myself make excuses for not putting on my gym shorts and getting to the gym.

It’s a short road back to “Fatty McFattersonville”, and there’s no way I’m taking that path back. I’ve got to follow my own advice and get my fitness/diet train back on track…TODAY…all I have to do is just get there tonight after work, and I’ll be shamed in to an amazing workout. If you don’t see any check-in’s at the gym on my Facebook/Twitter streams tonight, call me out!

Yeah – I rank for “Bedazzled Jeans”

Still uncovering the tactics used by Chuck Reynolds back in the day to get me ranked on Google for the keyword “Bedazzled Jeans”. Well – just found this:

Jerks! :-P

I still rank 1st page on Google though…too bad my jeans aren’t bedazzled anymore.

Automotive Journalism & Blogging

It’s no secret that I’m anything less than an automobile fanatic – I even go as far as to claim that I know more about automobiles then the manufacturers that produce them. It’s a sickness really, and I think automotive journalism & blogging will help me cope with it.

I’ve been told by more than a handful of people in my life that I need to be doing something within the auto industry. I would love to combine my skills (web development, nun-chucks, and that water drop sound I can make with my mouth) with cars/trucks and form the most wonderful job evAr, but sadly, I think Jeremy Clarkson & Napoleon Dynamite have most of that market cornered right now. GOSH!

I do however want to do something…anything, but what?

I still own, which has been more dormant then a 15 year old geek’s sex life, but how do I get going with it? I’ve heard, “force yourself to write”, but that hasn’t worked. I’ve also heard that setting up an editorial calendar of sorts will work because you can plan out your posts, but what do I write about?

I do dream of articles to write from time to time, and I read my fair share of auto industry blogs, but am I supposed to rehash something that another site has published? I’m not exactly in line to test drive the newest model cars/trucks that haven’t hit dealerships yet, but I do want to get there, I just don’t know HOW to get there.

Basically, I’d love to add “automotive journalism & blogging” to my list of hobbies in my free time, and you never know, maybe one day I’ll end up with status like Jeremy Clarkson and get to sling the worlds most exotic cars around an abandoned air strip. I think I just need someone with some insight or valuable blogging advice to get me jump started.

Sticking with Fitness & Weight Training

So, it’s been easily 8 weeks now since I started training with Ty, and I’ve got to say, I’m pleased with my results. My second chin that was gone, that came back, is now gone again, and we haven’t done measurements lately, but I think they will be moving in the RIGHT direction when we do them again. There’s a lot of positives that happen when you stick with it, but it’s a lot of hard work that requires quite a bit of self control to be able to stick with it. I figured I’d share a list of some of the things I do to help keep on track…

Cheat Meal Dreams

So for about the last 2 weeks or so, I started a 12 week training program with my buddy Ty. He runs a fitness & personal training business in Chandler called Team Cane Fitness. He kicks my ass every week, and I’m already seeing results.

My diet is strict, and it’s not easy to stick to, so my mind tends to wander about stuff I want to eat, that I can’t.

I decided to make a list of a few things I’m going to eat once I’m finished with my 12 weeks.
