2011 Daddy Checklist

Dominic just turned 8 not even 2 weeks ago, and I like to think I’m a good father, however, there are a few things I’ve missed over the past 8 years, that I really need to take care of this year.

2011 Daddy Checklist
– Ride a Bike
– Go to Disneyland (the O.G. Disneyland)
– Go Camping w/First Pocket Knife
– Learn to Swim
– Play on a Football Team

Bonus Points
– First crush/love
– Broken bone(s)
– Change the oil in Dad’s truck

For now, that list is definitely obtainable, and I’m a little disappointed in myself that over the past 8 years, we haven’t marked any of these off the list. We have had a few bumps in the road that have prevented things like playing football and riding bikes, but going to Disneyland/Camping & Swimming? Come ON! I attempted camping a few months back, until the hours of swarming bugs ruined that.

Clearly I don’t WANT Dom to break any bones, but that’s like a right of passage for any little boys. You know how cool it is to be the center of attention when you get to school and you have a cast on your arm for everyone to draw on/etc? Chicks totally dig that, so maybe he can knock out both of those bonus points with one good fall? hahaha

Any other things on here that I might be missing? What do you remember from your childhood that you’d want to or have passed on to your kids?

A total girl slumber party!! Hair and nails and makeup..junk food and movies with all the girls friends!! and teach the girls how to Tee Pee a house. hahahah!!!! Maybe Keiarra’s dad!

  2. ryan hadlock says:

    Blowing stuff up with M-80’s!
Riding a bike off a jump could kill three birds with one stone. That was always a crap shoot, and we didn’t have pads or helmets.
Griff wants a motorcycle, I’m not sure I’m ready for that.

  3.  I just realized today – that w/o any checking up on of any kind, I’m almost through the list. :) Gotta get that Disneyland vacation scheduled for this summer, and get him started in fall football!
